Education: My Right! My Future! is a three-year partnership project between the Department of Basic Education, the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), Educate a Child Foundation and MIET Africa. It is being implemented in four provinces (Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West), and targets 30 000 out-of-school children in specific districts to improve access, attendance and completion of primary schooling.
MIET Africa is implementing the project in close collaboration with the NECT. MIET Africa’s role involves: providing capacity-building of district and school officials to identify and support learners with poor attendance and at risk of dropping out of school; working with parent-community volunteers to bring to school learners who are out of school; supporting the coordination of support interventions (such as service delivery days); and implementing activities to support learners to manage their own learning.
